The Acid Queen is headed to Broadway.
A new musical based on the life and career of Tina Turner has been announced and will debut in New York City next fall, joining the likes of Carole King, Bob Dylan, and the Go-Go's as artists with their music being featured on the Great White Way.
"Bringing this musical to life on stage and working with this team has meant so much to me, I feel that it is in many ways a culmination of my career," said Turner in a statement. The show is already running in London.
No casting has been announced.

In case you missed it, the inspiration for one of the best-known songs in rock history has died. Peggy Sue Gerron Rackham, Buddy Holly's muse for the song bearing her name, passed away at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas- where she went to high school with Holly and his band-mates.
Rackham was 78.
