I seem to recall this time of day (10:10, as I write this) is mid-morning for normal people. For people like me, with insane sleep patterns, 10 is actually the afternoon. That's right, I've been awake since 3:30 (which, for me, is sleeping late- but Saturdays always put me off my schedule). So far, I've taken out garbage and the recycling, done the last of the laundry for the week, watched the latest episode of American Horror Stories, and am watching an "extended version" of Doom. Not because it's a great movie, but because Karl Urban is entertaining.

And damned near perfectly cast here. |
I actually watched another version of the thing called Doom: Annihilation. According to the imdb page, the makers weren't allowed to use any of the title's characters or plots produced since 2016, so its story is based on the "older" versions of the games.
Considering I know fuck-all about the games, I can't say whether they did it well or not, but I enjoyed to the movie. It wasn't a "can't miss" or anything- just a fun way to waste 90 minutes.

Speaking of a fun way to spend 90 minutes, we watched The Bob's Burgers Movie at the karaoke compound Friday. I laughed a lot, though it was kind of... I dunno... weird(?) to see a different animation style in the movie than they use on the show itself.
Still, that one I do recommend seeking out.

TMZ reports that Crystal Renay is steadfast in her decision to divorce singer NE-YO. She told the gossip outfit "(there) are no chances" that the couple would be able to sort out their differences.
Renay added that her husband of six years had done "...things can't be forgiven, but God will forgive, and one day so will I. The Christian me has to one day, but I am okay."
Renay filed for divorce in Atlanta earlier this month after publicly accusing the singer of cheating. She called their marriage "irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation."
The couple has three children.

Pitchfork reports that Arcade Fire front man Win Butler has been accused of sexual misconduct by four people, encounters the contend were "inappropriate given the gaps in age, power dynamics, and context in which they occurred.
Butler has admitted to the encounters but disputes that they were inappropriate, saying through a "crisis public-relations" spokesperson that all of the encounters were consensual.
He went on to say that Arcade Fire co-founder Regine Chassagne (who he married in 2003) was his "partner in music and in life, my soulmate and I am lucky and grateful to have her by my side. But at times, it has been difficult to balance being the father, husband, and bandmate that I want to be. Today I want to clear the air about my life, poor judgment, and mistakes I have made." He went on to blame mental health issues as part of the cause of those mistakes.

Halsey is recovering from food poisoning she suffered while in the U.K. for the Reading and Leeds festival.
"No idea how I'm still alive after my Leeds set," Halsey wrote on their Instagram Stories on yesterday. "I have terrible food poisoning STILL! It started yesterday at 2pm and I somehow made it on stage (after the medical team at the festival were soooo helpful!)." (Having had food poisoning- for maybe the second time in my life- a few months ago right on the heels of my bout with the plague, it's not something I'd recommend, though I did lose something like 15 lbs in 10 days.) Halsey went on to say they had done shows under some "messed up conditions" in the past, but this was "the worst in recent memory", calling the experience "exceptionally not fucking chill."

Animator Gerald Potterton, one of the animators of The Beatles' Yellow Submarine, has died. The National Film Board of Canada confirmed his passing in a statement to Pitchfork.
NFB chair Claude Joli-Coeur said Potterton "came to Canada and the NFB to be part of a new wave of storytelling, one that was fresh and irreverent, and he brought great wit and creativity to every project. He was also a builder, helping to lay the foundation for today’s independent Canadian animation industry with Potterton Productions.”
Potterton was born in London and moved to Canada in the 1950s to work with NFB animation. Not only was he on the team that animated Yellow Submarine, he directed the Oscar nominated short films My Financial Career and Christmas Cracker. He also directed the live-action comedies The Ride and The Railroader, and the animated Heavy Metal movie, based on the cult magazine.
