#Whaddup August 25, 2022

Good morning, kiddios. Hope the week is sailing smoothly for you. Me, I'm taking an unplanned day off. I'm not sick or anything, but we got an advisory that the power service to the building was going to be shut off yesterday evening. Because of that, everyone had to shut their electronics down before leaving yesterday- desktops, servers, machinery, etc.. Since my work involves my desktop, the company's server, and the company's network (for an IP address), I wasn't going to be able to actually do anything directly related to work until our IT guy got the servers and network up and running, I would have been wasting about half the day (since I get there ridiculously early). So, I decided I'd rather sit on my ever expanding arse at home, instead of doing it at work.
Yay me.

Ed Sheeran will perform an acoustic show October 11 as part of the Wellstock x For One Night Only concert series. Wellstock's mission is to build platforms "to bring mental health awareness to the fore whilst also looking at fundraising and with an overview of acceptance, validation and blowing away the shame that can attach itself to feeling anything other than happy."
Sheeran's show, which kicks off the series, will benefit Shout- the UK’s first and only free, confidential 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope. Fans looking to get tickets to the gig will get their chance by making a £10  donation to the For One Night Only fund and entering a prize drawing. 300 pairs of tickets will be given away.
In a post to his social media accounts, Sheeran said he was "excited to announce that I have teamed up with ‘For One Night Only’ for this very special one-off concert. It’s the first in a series of events they’ll be creating and will be a brilliant night in an intimate and special venue.
"The conversation around mental health is such an important one. We all have mental health, we all need to talk about it and there is also a need to have places to go when we are struggling."
Sheeran is currently in the middle of the European leg of his + – = ÷ x Tour (also known as The Mathematics Tour).

Poet and author Teresa La Dart has filed suit against Taylor Swift, alleging the signer's companion book to the 2019 album Lover copied elements of La Dart’s book of the same name.
The Daily Mail reports the filing alleges Swift copied "the vibe and design" of her own, as well as the "format” of “a recollection of past years memorialized in a combination of written and pictorial components”. La Dart also specifically mentions the books sharing a title, having covers that use "pastel pinks and blues", images of their author "photographed in a downward pose" and the designs comprising of "interspersed photographs and writings". She is reportedly seeking in "excess of one million dollars" in damages. Her lawyer said La Dart "feels strongly that her full work needs to be compared with (Swift’s) before a conclusion is made here".

Prosecutors have dropped domestic assault charges against Michelle Branch at "the state's request."
Police were called to the Nashville, Tennessee home of Branch and hsuabnd Patrick Carney where she told responding officers she’d slapped Carney in the face "one to two times". She was arrested and released the same day after posting $1,000 bail and filed for divorce from Carney the next day.
The day before the incident, Branch tweeted- and then deleted- a post claiming  Carney "cheated on me … while I was home with our 6-month-old daughter."
She told People magazine shortly that "totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward."
I mean, I guess throwing a punch is a, technically, moving.
