Hey kids- what's shakin'? How are you holding up, post time change?
The springing forward/falling back stuff doesn't usually faze me too much, but I've been struggling the past few days. I just can't seem to get rested up.![]() |
My idea of a perfect vacation spot. Isolated. |
Anyway, just to remind you- Saturday Night Karaoke is taking a break this week while Norcross celebrates St. Patrick's Day. Stop by the Tavern and grab a pint of your favorite ale or some fish n' chips and let out the Irish in you. We'll be back with you next week.

I finally got to watch Bohemian Rhapsody over the weekend and all I can say is "damn."
For all the naysayers: Fuck off. I don't see the film as ever have being meant to be a in-depth look at Freddie Mercury's life- it's a celebration of the band, which focuses on Freddie- who, himself, was the focus of the spotlight most of the time.
And for the Academy, who awarded Rami Malek a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of the legendary singer, well done.
If you haven't had a chance to see it yet, do so. And have some tissues handy.

Session drummer Hal Blaine, member of the famed "Wrecking Crew" of studio musicians, died yesterday.
Blaine played on songs by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, the Beach Boys, the Ronettes, the Byrds, and countless others. He was lauded nearly universally by those he played with, and Brian Wilson said Blaine was "a great musician and friend. (He) taught me a lot, and he had so much to do with our success- he was the greatest drummer ever."
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which Blaine was inducted to in 2000, credits him with appearances on 40 No. 1 hits, 150 top 10 songs, and eight Record of the Year Grammy winners. He's also believed to be the only drummer to back Presley, Sinatra and John Lennon.

I think the words you're looking for are "methinks he doth protest too much."
