#WhatsHappening for June 30, 2017

Whoo-hoo! Friday! The week's almost done- and don't forget to join us for Saturday Night Karaoke, live at the Iron Horse Tavern in Historic Downtown Norcross, tomorrow night!

The lawsuit filed by Sir Paul McCartney against Sony/ATV over his claim to songwriting credits on The Beatles' works has ended in a settlement.
McCartney's legal team filed the suit in January, asking the court to affirm his right to reclaim his copyright ownership share to the group's catalog of songs. The team cited the specific wording of the Copyright Act of 1976 which reads that "Termination of the grant may be effected at any time during a period of five years beginning at the end of fifty-six years from the date copyright was originally secured, or beginning on January 1, 1978, whichever is later."
McCartney's attorney said the "parties have resolved this matter by entering into a confidential settlement agreement and jointly request that the Court enter the enclosed proposed order dismissing the above-referenced action without prejudice."

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Treasure Island Festival will not happen this year- just one year removed from celebrating its 10th anniversay.
Co-founder Jordan Kurland said "A lot of factors went into our decision to take a year off. The main one being that finding a venue was taking a little longer than we wanted. But there was never a question of whether or not we would do another one."
Kurland says the festival will be back next year, with its policy of no overlapping sets and the signature 60-foot Century Ferris Wheel.

As always, I realize that I am not the target audience for "gangsta rap"- but I have to wonder if the NBA thinks all its fans are.
I ask this because it's been announced that rapper Killer Mike will be opening a new location of his SWAG Shop at Philips Arena. The shop is a a barber shop, and the name stands for Shave, Wash, and Groom.
"I’m very happy that the front porch of the Hawks is going to be host to a SWAG Shop," the rapper said in a statement. "It really is like a dream coming true because now kids are going to be coming down early just to hang out in my shop, buy a t-shirt, get a haircut and watch the game."
Or am I wrong in thinking that "Killer" is a gangsta name?

Birthdays today, on this last day of June, include: T-Pain (32); Tom Drummond of Better Than Ezra (48); Adrian Wright of Human League (61); Hal Lindes of Dire Straits (64); Stanley Clarke (66); Andy Scott of Sweet (68); Glenn Shorrock of Little River Band (73). #MusicalBirthdays

#WhatsHappening for June 28, 2017

Hey kids, happy Wednesday! (And really, isn't any day that brings us closer to the weekend a good day?)

Don't forget to join us for all the fun of a Star-Spangled Saturday Night Karaoke, live and loud at the Iron Horse Tavern this week.

A bit more from the laws regarding fireworks in the state of Georgia:
- It's illegal to shoot off fireworks on roads or highways, or within 100 yards of a hospital, nursing home or prison.
- Fireworks may not be used in a park, historic site, recreational area or other property owned by cities or counties unless special permission has been granted.
- It's illegal (and kind of stupid) to set off fireworks while under the influence.
- (I'd think this one would be obvious) Detonation of fireworks indoors, or within 100 yards of a nuclear power facility, gas station, electric plant, water treatment plant, waste-water treatment plant, any public or private substation is illegal.

The National Council on Fireworks Safety offers the following fireworks safety tips:
- Read the caution labels.
Wear safety glasses.
- Light one and quickly move away.
- Never relight a "dud." Wait 20 minutes and then soak in a bucket of water (which you should always have handy- along with a working water hose).
Dispose of spent fireworks by wetting them down and place in a metal trash can away from any building or combustible materials until the next day.
- Leaves the pets at home. Humans know (usually) what the hell the things are and we jump- dogs and cats don't know what the hell's happening. And, if you're detonating around your house, put your pet in a safe, interior room to minimize their exposure to the sound.
- Make sure your pet has an identification tag, in case it runs off during fireworks.

Ever just not feel like eating?
I'm a "solid" fellow, so I can safely skip a meal, but I just haven't been hungry since last week. I mean, I am eating because I know I need to, but I'm just not "feeling" it.

Well, when I saw this headline, I was excited for a second. Then, I reread it and realized they were talking about their "news" division and not the channel.

Ugh. I just realized Justin Bieber is left-handed. I don't care to have that in common with him, damnit.

The Recording Academy has announced that the 2019 Grammy Awards will will return to Los Angeles for four years beginning in 2019. The announcement today comes on the heels of a the Academy signing a four-year deal to hold the show at the Staples Center.
"We very much consider Staples Center our home and are grateful for the successful relationship we've cultivated throughout the years with AEG and the entire Staples Center team," said Recording Academy president and CEO Neil Portnow. (I'm not sure how that aligns with the show being held in New York next year, though.)
Officials also said they'll "leave the door open for a return to the East Coast" in the future.

Birthdays today include: Kellie Pickler (31); Mark Stoermer of The Killers (40); Charlie Clouser (53) of Nine Inch Nails; David Knights (72) of Procol Harum; and the incomparable Mel Brooks (91).

#WhatsHappening for June 26, 2017

Good Saturday morning, kiddios.  (Whatever, you aren't paying for this content!) Hey kids, welcome to Monday. Another week of toil, and then fireworks.
Just so you know, though, while the state of Georgia has made some fireworks legal for purchase in Georgia, there are still some limits, too.
Bottle rockets, firecrackers, Roman candles and other fireworks are available for sale in-state, but you must be 18 years old or or older in order to buy them, and no one under 16 may hold or use fireworks.
Georgia law also states that fireworks may only be used between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. on most nights- except on New Year's Eve and the Fourth of July, when the cutoff is extended to 1 a.m on New Year's and midnight on the Fourth of July (so fuck you if you're trying to sleep). Local governments may also extend those hours.
I'll have more next time.

The long-awaited deluxe edition of Purple Rain was released this week. If you're in the market- go for the MP3 edition- 35 songs of Purple pageantry. Pretty awesome.

The name John Walmsley may not immediately be recognizable to you, but you might remember him as John Walton from The Waltons. (Of course, if you do, you might be as old as me- or older.)
Walmsley's role on the show might lead you to believe he's a bluegrass fan, but he's out to dispel that idea with his new album- the blues-inspired Goin’ To Clarksdale.
"I would say that (the sound) is new to my audience- The Waltons fans- but it’s actually the music that inspired me to play when I was a kid. I remember listening to early rock n' roll first, and I started playing guitar at age eight. I didn’t realize until I was about 13 that the thing I loved about early rock n' roll was the bluesy elements. As Muddy Waters once said- and it’s a song title– 'The Blues Had A Baby And They Named It Rock and Roll.’ That was the thing. I loved Elvis when I was a little kid, and I was singing the blues- 'That’s All Right Mama’ and ‘Hound Dog.’ I covered ‘Hound Dog’ on the new CD, but it’s not Elvis’ version or Big Mama Thornton’s version, it’s something I came up with– something very swampy."

The star-studded fundraising recording of Bridge Over Troubled Water has vaulted to the top of the UK singles chart after less than two full days of sales.
The remake of Simon & Garfunkel's classic was recorded in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire in London. The fast rise makes it the UK's fastest-selling single of the decade. The song- featuring Robbie Williams, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, Emeli Sandé, and Nile Rodgers- sold 170,000 units from its 8 a.m. release Wednesday to midnight Thursday night.

Dear Billboard-
Was this really the best you could do for a headlines?
This Week's Gay Agenda: Marina & The Diamonds, Cyndi Lauper and a French Adult Film Star

Listening to the 80s channel on satellite radio on the way home this evening, and host Mark Goodman was talking about a group of folks who'd gotten together to talk about "the most important American band." (I'm guessing they meant US.)
Their conclusion? Van Halen.
For real.
Look, no disrespect to whatever the current lineup of the band is, but "most important"?
Let me just toss out some names that weren't named:
The Eagles. Just on numbers alone. They're top-selling US band of the rock era, outselling Van Halen by more than 40 million units.
Prince and any of his bands. Bad-ass.
Bill Haley & His Comets. The first rock and roll band to ever top the Billboard Hot 100.
The E-Street Band. Yes, Bruce gets all the press, but the E-Street band has been the backbone of the vast majority of his catalog and his tours.
The Beach Boys. Brian Wilson said Pet Sounds was the Boys' answer to The Beatles' Rubber Soul. John, Paul, George, and Ringo felt compelled to answer with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. According to producer Sir George Martin, "...Pepper was an attempt to equal Pet Sounds." So The Beach Boys are, in a roundabout way, responsible for two of the greatest albums of the rock era.
Earth, Wind & Fire. R&B at it's best.
The Doors.
Nirvana.
The Band.
The Grateful Dead.
R.E.M. (Who'd definitely win "most self-important".)
Talking Heads.
Blondie.
The Allman Brothers Band.
Red Hot Chili Peppers.
I'm just sayin'.

Birthdays today include: Ariana Grande (24); Gretchen Wilson (44); Colin Greenwood of Radiohead (49); Mark Decloedt of EMF (50); Terri Nunn of Berlin (56); Patty Smyth (60); Chris Isaak (61); Mick Jones of The Clash (62); and Billy Davis, Jr. of Fifth Dimension (77). #MusicalBirthdays

#WhatsHappening for June 20, 2017

We're gonna need a bigger boat.
Hey, ho kids. Hope you've managed to stay dry today because, as Supertramp said- it's raining again. I mean, summer may not start until tomorrow, but we've been doing the summer afternoon thunderstorm thing at the karaoke compound for a while now- and today's showers were more like a torrent.

New York rap legend Prodigy has died, according to a representative for the artist.
"It is with extreme sadness and disbelief that we confirm the death of our dear friend Albert Johnson, better known to millions of fans as Prodigy of legendary NY rap duo Mobb Deep," a statement from the rep read. "We would like to thank everyone for respecting the family's privacy at this time."
The 42 year old had hospitalized over the weekend due to complications caused by a sickle cell crisis, but the exact cause of death has not been determined.

The Library of Congress announced today that Tony Bennett, has been named as the recipient of this year's Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
The lifetime achievement award, named for the duo of George and Ira Gershwin, was created to honor singers and songwriters who entertain, inform and inspire. Past recipients include Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder.
"His staying power is a testament to the enduring appeal of the Great American Songbook the Gershwins helped write, and his ability to collaborate with new generations of music icons has been a gift to music lovers of all ages," Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden said in a statement.
Bennett said that "receiving an award named in (the Gershwin's) honor is one of the greatest thrills of my career, and I am deeply appreciative to the Library of Congress to be named this year's recipient."
Bennett is scheduled to accept the award in Washington in November.

Birthdays today include: Twiggy Ramirez of Marilyn Manson (45); Murphy Karges of Sugar Ray (49); John Taylor of Duran Duran (57); Michael Anthony of Van Halen (62); Lionel Richie (68); Anne Murray (72); and Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys (75). #MusicalBirthdays

#WhatsHappening for June 18, 2017

Hey kids, what's shaking? Hope you've enjoyed you weekend so far. We certainly didn't let some afternoon storms didn't dampen the mood at Saturday Night Karaoke last night. If you missed it, make sure you join us next week for all the fun. (Pips not included.)
Call your dad today! Better yet, go see him! While you still can.

Presiding Judge Steven O'Neill announced a mistrial in the sexual assault trial of Bill Cosby yesterday when jurors failed to reach a verdict after 52 hours of deliberation, which he called "probably one of the most courageous acts I've ever seen."
While Cosby's wife, Camille, called the decision a "manifestation of justice, based on facts, not lies," plenty of people weren't so forgiving in their assessments. Lena Dunham opined the trial was "about much more than Bill Cosby. When women see justice served, their own fear & trauma are eased. When they don't...Survivors of sexual assault have to watch every day as the legal system calls them liars and denies their truth. It is an unimaginable grind" and Kumail Nanjiani asked "...How will Cosby ever get an unbiased jury? Who doesn't know him or have some sort of association with him?"
One thing that everyone seems to be getting wrong, though- a mistrial is absolutely not the same thing as a "not guilty" verdict. Prosecutors may decide to retry the case without fear of violating Cosby's rights, and attorney Gloria Allred, who represents many of the accusers, said, "justice will come."

Graham Nash hasn't been shy about venting his anger with bandmate David Crosby over the past two years, but the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young singer says an even greater disdain for President Donald Trump and the current administration doesn't preclude the group reuniting.
"Here’s how I feel about it: I believe that the issues that are keeping us apart pale in comparison to the good that we can do if we get out there and start talking about what’s happening," Nash said. "So I’d be totally up for it even though I’m not talking to David and neither is Neil. But I think that we’re smart people in the end and I think we realize the good that we can do."
Nash had previously ruled out any sort of reunion, calling Crosby "just fucking awful" in an interview with Dutch magazine Lust For Life, and adding "I’ve been there and saved his fucking ass for 45 years, and he treated me like shit. … David has ripped the heart out of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young"
All that falls by the wayside, though, when it comes to Nash's disfdain for Trump.
"You have to keep up your will to fight. You have to research your subject matter so that when people ask you about them you have good answers, true answers, you need to feel something before you create something like a song that could change the world, you have to remain really vigilant and strong. We cannot let this man undermine everything we have fought for over the last 30 years, which is what’s happening by the way. You couldn’t possibly write this script and have it accepted in Hollywood, they would laugh you out of the office. ‘Then this guy becomes president and did what?’ It’s a crazy story."
"We need the younger generation," Nash says. "People like me, Jackson (Browne) and Bonnie (Raitt), we’ve been doing benefits for 40 years and we need the younger generation, particularly people like Lady Gaga, with what’s she got, 80 million people following her on Instagram or Facebook? We need those people that have incredible followings to be able to take a stand and bring information to their followers."

Birthdays today include: Blake Shelton (41); Nathan Morris of Boyz II Men (46); Dizzy Reed of Guns N' Roses (54); Alison Moyet (56); Jerome Smith of KC and the Sunshine Band (64); and Sir Paul McCartney (75). #MusicalBirthdays

#WhatHappening for June 14, 2017

Hey kids. Happy hump day. Also, Flag Day.

Billboard headline: YouTube Star Austin Jones Arrested on 2 Counts of Child Pornography
And what's the other thing wrong with that headline?

One day after Five Finger Death Punch assured fans that the recent personal conflicts among members had been smoothed over, "singer" Ivan Moody is bowing out of the rest of the band's European tour due to his substance abuse.
The band vowed to continue their European tour and tabbed Bad Wolves vocalist Tommy Vext to fill in.
In a statement to fans, Moody said he was "embarrassed and ashamed to admit that I have fallen off the wagon again. I was on shaky ground prior to our performance in Tilburg, and although a lot of the events of that show were out of my control, the shame of not delivering pushed me over the edge. It would not be fair to my band mates or my fans to continue to perform in my current condition. One of the worst parts of addiction is the loneliness you feel, so having the support of my band and all the knuckleheads is what drives me. I am committed to getting better so I can get back out on stage as soon as possible."
Guitarist Zoltan Bathory added that, "(as) a band, we are committed to supporting Ivan's road to recovery. We are as baffled and saddened as anyone to watch our brother continue to struggle. Almost everyone in the world knows someone who struggles with addiction, and can relate to how the self-destruction of someone they care about is very difficult to watch. Five Finger Death Punch has every intention of playing the dates we’re committed to and beyond. The band is bigger than any one member."

Azealia Banks is the defendant in a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court for failing to pay somewhere between $130,000 to $137,000 in credit card bills.
This suit comes on the heals of her plea deal on third-degree assault charges and pending assault charges for biting a bouncer at a Manhattan club in 2015.

Holy shit! Michael Jackson lives!!!

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich was knighted by Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark Monday.
Ulrich, who was born in Gentofte, Denmark, was officially knighted on May 26th but he received the medal in person during the prince's trip to San Francisco.
Ulrich was honor "on behalf of Queen Margrethe for (his) long-standing contribution to music."

Birthdays today include: Billie Myers (46); Chris DeGarmo of Queensryche (54); Boy George of Culture Club (56); Nick Van Ede of Cutting Crew (59); Alan White of Yes (68); and Rod Argent of Argent and The Zombies (72). #MusicalBirthdays

#WhatsHappening for June 12, 2017

Good Monday morning, kids. As good as it can be- considering it's a Monday.

With Prince’s birthday last week, former Paisley Park employees have launched a new foundation in his honor.
The nonprofit PRN (Prince Rogers Nelson) Alumni Foundation is dedicated to aiding the causes and charities that Prince supported during his lifetime.
Former Paisley Park Enterprises president Craig Rice said in a statement that "Prince’s philanthropic activities are an important component of his legacy. Therefore, our goal is to continue supporting the charitable initiatives that were important to him. His financial generosity, most often anonymous, helped provide opportunities for underprivileged youth to pursue their dreams in music, the arts and education."

Today's most frightening Billboard headline: Sisqo's 'The Thong Song' Gets Tropical Update From JCY
Because the original wasn't a big enough piece of shit.

Aretha Franklin was honored over the weekend in her home town of Detroit.
The Detroit Music Weekend festival included the naming of a street in Franklin's honor, along with a tribute concert and a free show from Franklin herself- which the Queen of Soul mentioned might be her last.
"I hope not, but it's possible. It's still moving in that direction. It's winding down. There's a warranty on everything. Fifty-four years of traveling and flying... can be very tiring. I'm not happy, exactly, about doing something that you've been doing for 54 years that you really, really love. But nothing lasts forever."

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood have been tapped to host the CMA Awards for the tenth straight year.
The show will be held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 8 and air live on ABC.

Birthdays today include: Kenny Wayne Shepherd (40); Bardi Martin of Candlebox (48); Grandmaster Dee of Whodini (55); Michael Hausman of 'til tuesday (57); John Linnell of They Might Be Giants (58); and Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick (66). #MusicalBirthdays

#WhatsHappening for June 8, 2017

Now these were some creepy vampires.
I'm still used to the whole "working all day thing."
I mean, I've worked full time for as long as I can remember- but I haven't had a job where I still had to be at work at five pm in a very long time. I'm now on a 9-6 shift, though, so I'm still kind of going "huh?" when noon rolls by and it's not time for me to go home for the day (my previous shift was 3-noon).
I'll adapt.
I still don't care for sunlight, though.

Phil Collins has been forced to postpone his shows at Royal Albert Hall tonight and tomorrow night after suffering a fall in his hotel room last night.
Collins was hospitalized and being kept under observation for 24 hours after suffering a "severe gash" on his head.
In a statement on Collins' Facebook page, a spokesperson explained that the singer "suffers from 'drop foot' as a result of a back operation which makes it difficult to walk. He rose in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and slipped in his hotel room, hitting his head in the fall on a chair."
"He was taken to hospital where he had stitches for a severe gash on his head close to his eye and is recovering well. He will be kept under observation for 24 hours."
"Phil sends his sincere apologies and thanks to fans. He has had a fantastic week at his first shows in 10 years, cannot thank people enough for their warm reaction and is excited to return."
The shows have been rescheduled for November 26 and 27 this year, with all tickets for tonight's show valid for November 26 and all June 9 tickets valid for November 27.
Sunday's show in Cologne is still scheduled to go on Sunday night.

Twisted Sister has filed suit against Rock N Festivals, alleging that the company paid out only $50,000 of a promised $200,000 the band was due for headlining one of the three nights of The Rock Carnival in Lakewood, New Jersey, last year.
A spokesperson for the band called it "very disheartening" to have their tour end in such a manner.
Rock N Festivals claims that the weekend was marred by bad weather and that the company "suffered catastrophic economic losses" because of it, and that the impending washout was discussed with the band's agent- who agreed to alter the payment schedule.
Advertisements for the show assured patrons of a "rain or shine event" and stated that there would "be no refunds for The Rock Carnival."

Birthdays today include: Alex Band of The Calling (36); Nicci Gilbert of Brownstone (47); Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran (55); Mick Hucknall of Simply Red (57); Bonnie Tyler (66); Boz Scaggs (73); and Chuck Negron of Three Dog Knight (75). #MusicalBirthdas

#WhatsHappening for June 5, 2017

Hey there, kiddios. Welcome to another week.
At least Monday's mostly over.

Pet peeve: The repeated, and incorrect reporting in Gregg Allman's obituary.
Allman did not live in Savannah. He lived in Richmond Hill. Not the same city, not the same county, not the same thing.

Bill Cosby's trial on sexual assault charges began today in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

The BBC's coverage of Ariana Grande's One Love Manchester benefit concert last night averaged 10.9 million viewers and peaked with an audience of 14.5 million according to data released today. That makes it the most-watched show of 2017 on British TV.
Grande was joined by Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, Pharrell Williams, Niall Horan, and Take That for the show, which raised over £2.35 million for the British Red Cross' Manchester Emergency Fund.

Jeffrey Campbell, better known as The Educated Rapper from U.T.F.O., has died following a battle with cancer.
Kangol Kid, Campbell's U.T.F.O. band mate, announced his passing on Instagram.
Campbell was 54.

E! News reports that rapper The Weeknd has donated $100,000 to the Suubi Health Center, a maternity and children’s medical facility in Budondo, Uganda.
The rapper was motivated to make a donation because of French Montana’s work to raise awareness for the health center through the Global Citizen social action platform.

Uber-douche Liam Gallagher says he "would have loved" to have been singer for the Sex Pistols.
I think I speak for millions when I say thank god you A) aren't old enough to have been in the band and 2) weren't.

An recent email to fans from Nine Inch Nails revealed that the band will be releasing a new EP ahead of their upcoming summer shows.
The band released the Not The Actual Events EP last December and says the "new top-secret Nine Inch Nails EP" will be the second of a trilogy of EPs. The third EP trilogy will follow "6-8 months" after this one.

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus says the band is getting ready to begin working on a new album, and Slash and Duff McKagan are on board.
Fortus added that the band hasn't "started recording anything, when I say that, as far as in the studio doing an album. We’ve been recording a lot of stuff, just ideas, assembling ideas, but not going into a studio and actually tracking a new record.""It’s sort of too good not to happen at this point, that’s how I feel about it. This band is really a force right now, and I definitely hope that we do, and I think we’re all sort of counting on it, and we’re also planning on it."

Birthdays today include: Sebastien Lefebvre of Simple Plan (36); P-Nut Wills of 311 (43); Mark Wahlberg (46); Clause Noreen of Aqua (47); Brian McKnight (48); Kenny G (61); Richard Butler of Psychedelic Furs (61); Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden (63); Laurie Anderson (70); and Freddie Stone of Sly & The Family Stone (71). #MusicalBirthdays

#WhatsNew for June 2, 2017

Happy Friday, kids. Hope you all had a great (short) week.

Happy 50th.

Funeral announcements were announced Wednesday for the late Gregg Allman.
In a post on his web page, the singer's family said that a private ceremony would be held tomorrow (June 3) in Macon
at 1 pm. They invited fans to participate by lining up along the procession's route.
The procession will begin after the memorial service at the intersection of Cherry Street and 1st Street, heading north on 1st Street and west on Riverside Drive to the entrance of Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family respectfully asks for privacy during the memorial service and burial.

Ariana Grande will return to Manchester to perform at a benefit concert in honor of the victims of the terrorist attack on her May 22 show there.
Grande announced Tuesday that the charity concert would be on this Sunday, and that she'd be joined by Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell, Usher, Take That, Niall Horan, and others at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket grounds there. The show will air live on BBC TV, BBC Radio, and Capital Radio Networks. Ticket proceeds from the show will go to the We Love Manchester emergency fund.

A 1962 Lockheed JetStar once owned by Elvis and Vernon Presley has been sold after sitting on a New Mexico runway for 30 years.
Liveauctioneers.com says the plane was sold for $430,000 last Saturday at an Agoura Hills, California sale of celebrity memorabilia. The buyer's name was not disclosed.

Frank Ocean's has been forced to cancel his set at the Primavera Sound show tonight, according to festival representatives.
Primavera Sound's website said Ocean had canceled "due to production delays beyond his control. The artist has apologized and has reiterated his wish to come to Barcelona soon."
This is Ocean's third recent concert cancellation- he previously backed out of sets at Sasquatch! and the Hangout Music Festival- each time citing production issues as the reason.

Birthdays today include: B-Real of Cypress Hill (47); Thor Eldon Jonsson of The Sugarcubes (55); Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet (57); Michael Steele of The Bangles (63); Steve Brookins of 38 Special (66); Chubby Tavares of Tavares (67); Marvin Hamlisch (73); and Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones (76). #MusicalBirthdays
