#WhatsHappening for May 26, 2016

Hey, hi, howdy, kids. Hope your week has been smooth sailing- and don't forget to join Mark for Saturday Night Karaoke, live and loud at the Iron Horse Tavern this weekend.

B.B. King's eleven surviving children are fighting with King’s appointed trustee over his estate, estimated to be worth between $30 million and $40 million, claiming that a 2007 will and trust should be followed, as opposed to the 2014 that the executor says he is following. The executor also says that the value of King’s estate is only $5 million, and no proviso was made for the blues man's children.

The Tragically Hip is embarking on what's expected to be their final tour this summer after lead singer Gord Downie was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
The band will be hitting the road in support of their 14th studio album, Man Machine Poem, due out June 17.
The band announced the news of Downie's illness on their website earlier this week.
..."(After) 30-some years together as The Tragically Hip, thousands of shows, and hundreds of tours…We’ve decided to do another one. This feels like the right thing to do now, for Gord, and for all of us.
“What we in The Hip receive, each time we play together, is a connection; with each other; with music and it’s magic; and during the shows, a special connection with all of you, our incredible fans. So, we’re going to dig deep, and try to make this our best tour yet.”

Alejandro Fernández has been forced to cancel his concert scheduled for tonight in Torreón after a leg injury.
The singer told fans on Twitter that he was "in recovery and resting so I can be in excellent conditions when I go back to Monterrey and Torreón." The latter show has been rescheduled for Sunday.
I will follow all medical orders to be able to be again with my audience. Thank you for your prayers, understanding and support," Fernández said in a statement.

A new series of U.K. postage stamps will feature Pink Floyd in honor of the band's 50th anniversary.
The stamps will feature a mix of album artwork and live photos. The album covers  include The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, Atom Heart Mother, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Endless River, and- of course- The Dark Side Of The Moon.

Birthdays today include: Lenny KravitzHank Williams, Jr.; the lovely Stevie Nicks; and Garry Peterson of Guess Who. #MusicalBirthdays
