For those of you who've spent a few moments to play along with us, you'll know that I was diagnosed with prostate cancer just about a year ago. I had surgery back in October of last year, and it was discovered back in March or April (I'm forgetful at the best of times) that it hadn't been 100% successful, so ended up spending every weekday for eight weeks getting radiation treatments in those two plus months I've been away. One of the side effects of radiation isn't turning into the Hulk, unfortunately (not for me, anyway- though I, too, have been described as having "breathtaking anger issues"), but fatigue. And that fatigue's no bullshit.)
Anyway, my last treatment was on the 12th. I'm very slowly shaking off that fatigue, so maybe I'll be a tad more diligent here. If not, well- you're still not paying for this, so there's that.

(For those wondering, it remains to be seen what the results will be, though both the Radiation Oncologist and the Urologist seem to think this will have done the trick.)

If you're wondering where we're having karaoke, the answer for us personally, is "nowhere." The Iron Horse was my only gig (by choice) and it's still a no-go. Unlike trivia and live music (which have resumed there, to some degree), karaoke is a bit more difficult to keep "clean." At our last "show" before the break, I employed isopropyl alcohol, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer in a effort to be safe, but I still wonder if that's enough.
Plus, since I'm still yet to hear a consensus of scientists and experts say it's safe to do things like that (particularly with the state continuing to be a hot spot), it's not looking like it's happening any time soon.
Believe it or not, I actually do miss our Saturday night get togethers. And, if I could manage to figure out a way to do it online, I would.
I'll tell you what, though- if you want to record yourself performing and send us a link to it, I'd be happy to share it. Virtual karaoke, of a sorts. There are a number of free karaoke players available online, including this one. You can find reasonably priced song downloads at Karaoke Version, SBI Karaoke, and Karaoke Cloud. Please use one of those, or other legitimate dealers, rather than YouTube versions- which the artists are not compensated for.
While I'm at it, stop by the Tavern and say hi. Get some food or a drink to-go, or sit and eat if you're brave. The deck's open, too.
Oh, and wash your hands, keep your distance, and wear your damned mask!
Hope to see you guys soon.
