Variety is reporting that "a number" of big name producers and directors have been exploring bringing The Bride of Frankenstein back to the big screen.
All I can think of is "why"?

Culkin testified in Jackson’s defense in after the singer was charged with molesting a 13 year old boy in 2005, and says- with Jackson being dead- if he "had something to speak up about, I would totally do it." Culkin says the trial was the last time he saw Jackson in person.

Lil Wayne celebrated his fifth #1 album on the Billboard album charts and debuted four new songs on the Hot 100 chart this week, and moved into second place all time with the 82 singles that have made the Top 40. Drake leads the pack with an even 100 songs.
For perspective, Elvis Presley charted 81 Top 40 hits (including 18 on the top of the chart), while The Beatles had 50 Top 40 hits (including 20 #1 singles). Neither Drake or Lil Wayne makes the top 10 as far as #1 singles is concerned.

After a contentious month that saw him file suit against his band mates, Joey Kramer has rejoined Aerosmith for their Deuces Are Wild residency at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last night- his first gig with the band since a shoulder injury last April.
Kramer filed suit against the band after being asked to audition to rejoin them, and was kept out of a performance at the Grammys last month. A Live Nation spokesperson confirmed that Kramer performed with the band on Monday night, though Aerosmith has not posted any comments on social media about the reunion.

Keyboardist Lyle Mays, best known for his work with the Pat Metheny Group, died yesterday in LA.
Metheny called Mays "one of the greatest musicians I have ever known. Across more than 30 years, every moment we shared in music was special. From the first notes we played together, we had an immediate bond. His broad intelligence and musical wisdom informed every aspect of who he was in every way. I will miss him with all my heart."
Mays won 12 Grammys over his career and worked as a sideman on albums by Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones, Earth, Wind & Fire, and composed numerous soundtrack offerings for films.
He was 66.

Joseph Shabalala, founder of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, died at a Pretoria hospital Tuesday morning, his family confirmed to South African media outlets.
The choral group shot to international fame after collaborating with Paul Simon on his Graceland album and became on of the South Africa's most recognized performers.

Shabalala retired from the band in 2014, but made occasional appearances at its events. The band announced that they would be cutting short their US tour to return home. Their manager, Xolani Majozi, said group members were "devastated because the group is family."
