#WhatsHappening for July 8, 2018

Apropos of nothing, I give you this.

Anyway, good Sunday afternoon, kids. I was going to post this morning, but I decided to give my car a bath. Of course, that means it's going to rain this afternoon, I'm certain.
Thanks to everyone who came out for Saturday Night Karaoke last night- we look forward to seeing you next time.

Honestly, I had to look up just who Katherine McPhee was when I saw the headline about her and David Foster's engagement. It's not even the age thing that surprises me, in fact none of it surprises me. I do kind of see a Shania Twain kind of situation, though.

Bruce Springsteen has officially released the recording of his 1978 gig at the Los Angeles Roxy. The June 7th show was released through his ongoing live series archives, have spanned 1977 through last year. The show was originally broadcast on KMET-FM Los Angeles and had never been given an official release.

Gorillaz were forced cut short their Roskilde festival performance last night when Del the Funky Homosapien took a tumble from the stage.
The band was among a variety of acts performing at the Danish festival, including Eminem, Bruno Mars, Nick Cave, David Byrne, and Dua Lipa.
The band in the middle of Clint Eastwood when the rapper was seen falling from the stage. Damon Albarn quickly closed the show, telling the crowd "Thanks for a beautiful evening."
Festival organizers said Del was "was seen on site by a doctor and went to the hospital for further investigation." He later went on Twitter to assure fans he was okay.

BET representatives told Variety that next year's edition of the BET Awards were "discussing a contract extension for  (holding) the 2019 event" in Los Angeles with executives from AEG, but the network was still open to relocating the show from Los Angeles- with Atlanta reportedly the leading candidate.
Industry insiders cite the popularity of the city's Quality Control label, as well as it's past two decades' track record of  success. Vegas is said to be the other leading candidate.
Jonny Shipes of the Cinematic Music Group says "there are few cities that have a richer history than Atlanta when we are talking about music. So many pillars of the culture have come out of there, from Dungeon Family to the Migos. Hosting the BET awards in ATL would be perfect celebration of excellence, legacy and of course, fun."
The show have been held in Los Angeles since 2001.
