Hey, hey- it's Tuesday. And that, thankfully, means we're another day closer to the weekend. If my back holds up (and it'd better, goddamnit), I'm off to see Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band Saturday night. Don't worry, though, Mark will be taking care of business at Saturday Night Karaoke for your crooning pleasure.
Britney Spears has sold a watercolor painting for $10,000 with the proceeds going to the victims of last month's shooting in Las Vegas- where she's currently in residence at Planet Hollywood.
Former Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous host Robin Leach bough the painting- and served as auctioneer of the event.
Earlier today, organizers announced a benefit concert fr the Vegas victims, with The Killers and Imagine Dragons featured as headliners.
Other performers at the show, coming December 1st at T-Mobile Arena, include Boyz II Men, David Copperfield, Penn and Teller, and Cirque du Soleil performers. Tickets go on sale tomorrow and proceeds will benefit the Las Vegas Victims Fund.
After record ratings for the network with The New Edition Story, BET has announced they'll be focusing their next project on Bobby Brown- with Woody McClain once more playing the singer.
The Bobby Brown Story is said to pick up where The New Edition Story left off, exploring Brown's exit from the group, his affair with Janet Jackson, his marriage to Whitney Houston, his battle with drug addiction, and the death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina. Casting for other roles is still underway. The two-part biopic is set for a fall 2018 debut.
A Philadelphia judge sentenced rapper Meek Mill to two to four years in prison for violating his probation in a gun and drug case.
In announcing the sentence yesterday, the judge cited a failed drug test and failure to comply with a court order restricting his travel. Prosecutors had recommended Mill not be imprisoned, but the judge said she'd been trying to help him for nearly a decade and that he "just does whatever he wants."
