A judge has dismissed the lawsuit filed against the surviving members of Nirvana after the idiot guy who was the baby pictured on the cover of Nevermind missed the court-imposed deadline to oppose the defendants' motion to dimiss.
Attorneys for Grohl, Novoselic, Weddle, Love, Cobain, Nirvana, L.L.C., MCA Records, UMG Recordings, Inc., Universal Music Group, Inc., The David Geffen Company and Geffen Records jointly sought the dismissal, saying the man "spent three decades profiting from his celebrity as the self-anointed 'Nirvana Baby'" and the suit was time-barred.
The judge's dismissal was made "with leave to amend" that gives the idiot plaintiff a chance to refile a new complaint that corrects the "defects" alleged in the motion to dismiss. A January 13th deadline was imposed by the judge, who said the suit would be dismissed without prejudice and the matter closed if the deadline isn't met.

David Lee Roth has cancelled has cancelled all the remaining shows of his Las Vegas residence "amid COVID concerns," according to a spokesperson for the House of Blues at Mandalay.
That means Roth's announced retirement will come a little sooner than originally planned, as he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal back in October that he'd be "throwing in the shoes" once the shows were done.

The Grammys have been postponed "indefinitely" due to the spike in COVID cases being experienced across the United States. Variety reported that the show will "likely" be rescheduled for April or May, though the RIAA has not announced a new date.
A joint statement from the Recording Academy and CBS issued Wednesday reads: "After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th annual Grammy Awards show. The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority. Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31st simply contains too many risks. We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon."

There's a new tribute album coming out next month, featuring music from David Byrne, Yo La Tengo, Japanese Breakfast, Sharon Van Etten, and the Flaming Lips. The tribute's subject? Yoko Ono.
Yep, you read that right. Even more surprising (to me, anyway) is that there has already been a tribute album to Ono- from 1984. Contributors to that one included John Lennon (of course), Elvis Costello, Harry Nillson, and Roseanne Cash, among others.

The film will follow a 12-year-old boy who works on the MGM lot who creates an imaginary friendship with Kelly while working on a film with him. Evans is reported to have dreamed up the story, and will also produce along with Mark Kassen. Three time Academy Award nominee John Logan will write the script.
