A retired detective tells CNN that an informant's notebook claims that Adrienne Brown, wife of the late Godfather of Soul- James Brown, was murdered, despite a coroner's determination that there was no evidence of foul play.
Adrienne Brown died in 1996 at age 45. And one of her friends says she's always suspected foul play- going so far as contacting police in Beverly Hills, prosecutors in South Carolina, and a number of reporters before CNN's Thomas Lake decided to investigate her claims.
He feels good.
Lake was able to track down a retired detective the woman said had been assigned to the Brown case. The detective, in turn, found a notebook an informant had given him shortly before his 2001 retirement that referred to Adrienne Brown's death and claiming it was linked to a murder for hire scheme relating to an alleged rape committed by James Brown, as well as death threats made to the victim.
Seriously, this story is nuts- and includes allegations that James Brown, himself, was murdered. You can check it out here, but- be forewarned- it's three parts, and they're pretty in depth.

Duncan Jones- son of the late David Bowie- says a planned biopic of his father's life has yet to attempt to clear any of the singer's music or sought any input from his family.
After a fan told Jones about the project, which set to star Johnny Flynn, Jenna Malone, and Mark Maron, he took to Twitter yesterday to say that he was "certain nobody has
So... Duncan No-wie?
been granted music rights for ANY biopic…" but that he wasn't "
saying this movie is not happening. I honestly wouldn’t know. I’m saying that as it stands, this movie won’t have any of dads music in it, & I can’t imagine that changing."
Jones added that "If you want to see a biopic without his music or the families blessing, that's up to the audience."

Variety reports that Ariana Grande will skip this year's Grammys after a disagreement with the show's producers over which songs she would perform.
Grande reportedly wanted to perform 7 rings- her latest single- but producers would only agree to allow the song as part of a medley, and demanded they be allowed to choose the second song.
Variety says Grande felt "insulted" by the demand and told producers to "delete her invitation." She's been nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Solo Pop Performance.
Confirmed performers for the even include Miley Cyrus, Janelle MonĂ¡e, Kacey Musgraves, Brandi Carlile, Cardi B., Post Malone, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. (I know songs by exactly one of these performers.)
