#WhatsHappening for September 16, 2018

Hi kids- happy Sunday. Hope you're managing to get some relaxing done.
Not here- I'm certain to pop a blood vessel soon from having to fuck around with a temperamental washing machine. Seriously, is it too much to ask that something I bought just over two years ago still fucking works? It's not like we're doing four loads a day, every day (at least, as far as I know- I'm not sure what the chief does when I'm at work). And, when the damned thing does work, it's s-o-o-o-o-o-o fucking slow to finish a load.
And that's how my weekend is going. At least I didn't attempt laundry yesterday, or my whole weekend off would've sucked.
You know, no matter how many times it comes on, I still don't like The Shining (the movie version, anyway). Yes, it's beautiful to look at, because Kubrick knew how to put together incredible visuals, but it's just really not that good.
I'm sure I'd feel differently had I not read the book when it came out and seen the movie first, instead- but that's not how it worked, and why, I guess, it didn't work for me. It's supposed to be a story about a family falling apart slowly, thanks to isolation and an otherworldly influence- not a story about an already-crazy guy who finally gets around to murdering his wife and child.
Of course, it's better than football. Besides, the original three Star Wars movies are on, too- so, guess what I'm watching?
I was thinking of donning a Predator mask for Halloween. It'll be an improvement, don't ya think?
Speaking of Halloween, make your plans to join us now for the Ninth Annual Costumes and Karaoke Party at the Iron Horse Tavern in downtown Norcross. We'll have music, a fog machine, flashing lights, and prizes for the best costumed participants- and there's sure to be some folks dressed sexy, too, which is always a plus (not me, of course). Anyway, hope we'll see you there!
So, Weezer has evidently turned into a cover band?

Lauryn Hill has dropped Nas and Santigold from her Miseducation anniversary tour as of last Wednesday's show in Portland, where fans said they were "given no warning" and that a DJ opened for Hill.
Santigold Tweeted that the note she received from Hill’s management cited "production issues" as the reason for the two's dismissal (though I don't really see anything saying they're off the tour for good).
Neither Nas nor Hill have responded to requests for a statement.
Billboard headline: Justin Bieber Is Applying For U.S. Citizenship Before Marrying Hailey Baldwin: Report
C'mon... Bieber? I mean, that's a big old NOPE that needs to happen immediately so the rest of the world can't blame any of that douchecanoe's bullshit on the US.
TMZ reports that Taylor Swift has been granted a restraining order against a stalker who sent threatening letters to her. Documents obtained by the site show Swift filed for the order against a 26-year-old man who she says  has been sending the star threatening letters since 2016- including one where the man wrote he wanted "to rape Taylor Swift. This is why I hate Taylor herself … This is how I know I am Taylor’s soulmate."
In another letter, the man wrote he would "not hesitate to kill her … and there’s nothing (she), (her) lawyers, or the law will be about to do about it. Remember who I am."
The judge's order was effective immediately, forbidding the man from contacting the singer and ordering him to stay away from her property.
Two other stalkers were arrested in April involving the singer in separate incidents, while still another was sentenced to ten years on probation after threatening to kill her.
