Out with the old...

Good morning, friends.
On this last day of 2023, I- like so many others- look back on the year past and reflect on what it was like. For me- again, like so any others- it was a mixed of good and bad.
On the good side of the ledger, I include the newest of my six "kids", Pluto, a super-sweet boy who sought me out and stole my heart with his purr. I managed to entertain you on Saturday nights for the better part of the year. After some "iffy" blood tests, I am still cancer free. I continue to be more content with my weekday job than I was with my previous employer.
On the down side, well- late in the year, I learned that I have some coronary issues. While a cardiac echo and stress test showed my ticker was working well, I also have some blockage that will likely require correction (surgery). Considering how my last surgery went, I'm definitely not looking forward to that bullshit. And, of course, there was the cessation of my tenure at the Tavern. To say I was displeased with the way that went down would be an understatement, but- as the Beatles said "lifes goes on." Once I get the former (the heart thing) straightened out, I'll further address securing a new gig. Or not. I honestly don't know how that will work out. In the meantime, I continue to be grateful for your support.
So, so long, 2023- don't the doorknob hit you in the ass on the way out. And, in the words of Colonel Sherman T. Potter, "Here's to the new year- may she be a damned sight better than the old one."
