To paraphrase Walter Winchell, "good morning Mr. and Mrs. World and all the ships at sea."Look it up. It's already well established that I'm old (though this is before even my time on this rock).
Kicking things off this morning, and very large "thank you" to all who came out last night. A good crowd always makes the night go smoother (program hiccups aside). And, boy howdy did you folks bring your "A" game last night. We had some serious talent take the mics, and (as far as I could tell), everyone had a blast. Some of you may not have gotten to take as many turns as you'd hoped, and all I can say is... well, that's the down side of having so many folks come out to play with us. The plus side? You didn't have to hear me butcher any songs!

Quick reminder: No karaoke next week. Norcross will hold their annual blueberry festival. That means the roads will be closed down, the servers will be tired, and everyone will be ready to go home by the time we'd be kicking things off!
We'll be back at it on July 1st with another night of karaoke madness. Please join us then!

I've never had a dog in the fight when it comes to DC/Marvel rivalry (or whatever it is), but- Wonder Woman and The Batman aside- DC's big screen output since The Dark Knight Rises has been mediocre, at best. That said, the only reason I have any interest in seeing The Flash is to see Michael Keaton return to his incarnation of Bruce Wayne. I suspect I'm not the only person who feels this way. And we'll see later today whether the debut weekend was super or not.

A realtor.com listing shows that Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick have put their Florida home up for sale for the bargain price of $3.49 million.
The post says the "magnificent, custom-built Rutenberg home in the premier gated community of The Lake Club was designed with privacy in mind" and boasts four bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, 5700 square feet of space, a heated saltwater pool, wet bar, and media room- among other features.
The couple, who have a six year old son, purchased the home in October of 2020 for $1.9 million, and also have a residence in New York City.
So, you know, make your offer.

I don't think it's any sort of secret that I find a whole bunch of politicians to be blithering idiots, but it's almost like they're all trying to outdo each other when it comes to who can actually say the dumbest shit.
This week's best contender: Ted Cruz, who- despite growing up in the 80s- picked Pat-fucking-Benatar as the rocker who most symbolized the (idiotic) perceived link between rock and roll and Satanism.

A spokesperson for the George, Washington sheriff's department says a suspect in the the shootings of five people at the Gorge's campground last night, where concert goers for the "Beyond Wonderland" EDM festival were staying. Two people were reported dead and three injured last night.
The sheriff's department said the shootings occured as performances were still going on inside the venue, and the shooter continued to "fire randomly into the crowd" as authorities were responding. The suspect was reported to be among the three people injured.
The festival continued during the incident, even though the sheriff's office had declared an active shooter incident was in progress. Later reports say the remainder of the festival was cancelled.

Shawn "Clown" Crahan has pulled out of the remainder of Slipknot’s European tour due to his wife’s "medical situation."

North Carolina natives J. Cole and Eric Church are reported to be part of the ownership group buying Michael Jordan’s majority stake in the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets, according to an announcement from the team.
Team minority share holder Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall (minority owner of the Hawks) lead the group, which also includes Charlotte investors Amy Levine Dawson and Damian Mills, Chris Shumway, Dan Sundheim, Ian Loring, and Dyal HomeCourt Partners.
Cole was a walk-on player at St. John’s, but his rap career took off before he ever played for the school. Church once cancelled a concert to watch UNC play against Duke in the NCAA Final Four.
