Happy Tuesday, friends. Hope you're all keeping bundled up (or live somewhere you don't need to).
Personally, I don't mind the cold weather. In fact, I prefer it. Hot weather sucks- 'cuz there's only so much clothing I'm comfortable shucking!

The wrongful death lawsuit filed by Prince's family members has been dismissed, leading many to believe the survivors have settled with the defendants in the case, including the doctor who treated him in the weeks before his death, as well as the hospital that treated him for an opioid overdose seven days before he died. The suit claimed the doctor and the hospital had failed in their duty to diagnose and treat the star's addiction.
Attorneys in the case declined to comment on the reason for the suit's dismissal. No criminal charges were ever filed in connection with his death, and authorities have been unable to determine the source of the counterfeit pills the he overdosed on.

As the Recording Academy gets ready to celebrate the Grammys this weekend, the circumstances around the ouster of former CEO Deborah Dugan are getting uglier and uglier.
Dugan's EEOC complaint, filed today, makes the following claims, among others:
- Sexual harassment by Academy executive Joel Katz.
- "...egregious conflicts of interest, improper self-dealing by Board members and voting irregularities with respect to nominations for Grammy Awards, all made possible by the
'boys' club' mentality and approach to governance at the Academy..."
- That some board members on the "secret committees" that choose the nominees, represent or have relationships with nominated artists, and that the Board used the committees to push for artists with whom they have relationships.
- That the Board manipulates the nominations process to ensure that certain songs or albums are nominated when the producer of the televised show wants a particular song performed during the show.
- That the Board selected artists are under consideration for a nomination to sit on committees voting for the category for which they were being considered for.
- That Neil Portnow, who Dugan replaced as Academy CEO, had "raped (an unnamed) female recording artist."
Dugan's complaint adds her dismissal was retaliation against her for reporting all of those issues to the Academy's HR department.
