Hey friends- what's shakin'?
Can you believe that there are only 48 days left in the year? Hard to believe, I know, because of the fucking "holiday" ads that have been running for something like a month.
Since Christmas and New Year's Eve both fall on Tuesdays this year, we'll be on the regular schedule for Saturday Night Karaoke for the rest of the year (barring anything coming up).
Also, I plan on having our songbooks updated by the first of the year- so, if there's a song you're looking for, let us know soon. And there will also be some songs on the way out, too. If you have suggestions on that front (and because you don't like them isn't going to cut it- that only works for me- you have to support your argument).

Chance the Rapper has agreed with MGM to developing a musical. The project, titled Hope, will follow a group of Chicago teenagers who band together to turn art into action within their community.
Longtime Chance collaborator Nico Segal will work on the film’s music while Empire writer Carlito Rodriguez will pen the screenplay.
MGM's Jonathan Glickman said "Chance and Nico are undoubtedly two of the most influential and innovative artists of their generation. We feel thrilled, privileged and eager to be collaborating with them on such a unique project."

Los Angeles County Fire Station 68 has been busy fighting the Woolsey Fire in Southern California, so Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl said thank you to them Monday- bringing his Backbeat BBQ to station.
There appears to be a pretty sound basis in the rumors of him being a nice guy.

Billboard headline: Morrissey Defends Fan Who 'Attacked' Him During Concert: 'I Was Honored & Grateful for Such an Excited & Loving Response' (I think they left out the part where he said he was "honored & grateful people still came to his shows.)
