#WhatsHappening for March 23, 2017

Hey kids- what's shaking?

TMZ is reporting that former Boston drummer Sib Hashian has died.
Hashian's son told them that the rocker collapsed during a performance during the Legends of Rock Cruise.
Hashian joined Boston in 1975 and played with them for 10 years before leaving during recording for Third Stage. He was 67.

Ms. Ryan wore it better.
The more I see the commercial for Ghost In The Shell, the less interested I am in seeing it.
I mean, I wasn't interested in it to start with, but- you know...
I'll give Ms. Johansson this, though- that's a nice outfit.

Ooh, ooh... something else I give less than a fuck about? Basketball. At any level. And just think- 16 weeks of NBA playoffs are right around the corner.
Yee-fucking-haw.

I swear, reading through the headlines on Billboard, I'm not sure if I'm seeing artists' names or the headline writer is having a fucking stroke...

Conservative estimates say Chuck Berry left behind an estate worth an estimated $50 million dollars.
How do you figure before one of the heirs sues?

London won't be getting a David Bowie Memorial lighting bolt after all.
The crowd-funding campaign to raise money to erect the "ZiggyZag" sculpture near the rock icon's birthplace has ended after raising just £50,000 of the estimated £900,000 needed to complete the project.
Organizers say they still hope to create an some sort of monument.
"We are still determined to celebrate David Bowie, in Brixton, with a challenging and appropriate piece of public art. We’re just going to have to approach the fundraising in a different way," said a statement on the Crowd Funder campaign page.
"Along the way, we’ve learned a hell of a lot. And we’ll be able to plough that learning back into the project, and return with a ZiggyZag #2 that’s even better (and hopefully a bit cheaper).... If someone had told us a year ago that we’d raise 50 grand from nearly 700 wonderful people in just three weeks we wouldn’t have believed it possible. Thank you from the bottom of our Bowie-obsessed hearts for supporting us."

Birthdays today include: Beverly Knight; Damon Albarn of Blur; John Stohm of The Lemonheads; Marti Pellow of Wet Wet Wet; Chaka Khan; Ric Ocasek of the Cars;
