Hey ho, kids. Hope your week has been good.
Amazingly, the company I work for during the week is closed tomorrow and Friday, so I'll actually have a long weekend. That's unusual for me- and why I always make sure to try and have at least one week off a month.
From my buddy Robin: "Yo, Kanye..I'm real happy for you. I'm'a let you finish, but Britney Spears had one of the best public breakdowns of all time!"
In all seriousness, though- I give zero fucks about Mr. West, or his breakdown, or his "music", or anything about him.
Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) is retiring- but not before celebrating with gigs at the famed Apollo Theater and Washington, DC's Kennedy Center next month.
The Apollo show will be December 21, while the Kennedy Center appearance will be a multi-night show on the 31st and January first and second. The shows are part of a collaborative effort between the Apollo and the Kennedy Center.
"We’re so excited to collaborate with the Kennedy Center on what will be a milestone moment in not only hip-hop history but also in popular culture," said the Apollo’s executive producer Kamilah Forbes.
Bey had been banned from international travel from his native South Africa after violating immigration laws, but his travel restrictions were lifted yesterday. He announced his plans to retire early this year.

Sir Elton John's publicist says the legendary performer "will NOT be performing" for the inauguration of Donald Trump- despite claims made by Trump advisor Anthony Scarammucci on "BBC HARDTalk" this morning.
Scaramucci told HARDTalk that John's performance would show the president-elect's "commitment to gay rights" as the "first American president in U.S. history that enters the White House with a pro-gay rights stance."
John's publicist, Fran Curtis, said Scaramucci was "Incorrect" and unequivocally denied his claim that said that John would be "doing our concert on the mall for inauguration.
TMZ reports that police have arrested a doctor in connection with former 3 Doors Down member Matt Roberts' death.
The medical examiner's reports showed that Roberts died from a prescription drug overdose in August and police say source of those drugs was Alabama-based physician Dr. Richard Snellgrove. Snellgrove was indicted for illegal drug distribution for reportedly prescribing five different controlled substances to different names, all intended for Roberts.
