Proving once again that
dying is a good career booster, Motörhead's “Ace of Spades” is
on its way to its first stint in the U.K. Top 10, moving from 103 to
9 on this week’s Official Singles Chart Update in the wake of Lemmy
Kilmister's death.
Meanwhile, LA's Rainbow
Bar & Grill- where Kilmister often could be spotted, enjoying a
beverage- announced on their Facebook page last Saturday that they'd
hold their own memorial service for him- and later expanded the
memorial to include the entire Sunset Strip, due to positive
response. Kilmister's “formal” service, which takes place Forest
Lawn Memorial Park the same day, will be live streamed for
fans.
“Motörhead is respectfully asking that fans don't attend the service at the cemetery, but the band wants everyone to be a part of this, so they are setting up a live feed of the service via the Internet on Motörhead's official YouTube channel,” said a rep for the band in a statement.
